Turkana-based detectives have apprehended a man involved in the illicit trade of firearms within the County.

The suspect, identified as Moses Lokisha, aged 24, was taken into custody after an undercover police officer posed as a potential buyer for an AK47 rifle.

The successful operation was conducted by the ‘No Guns for Gangs’ team in response to a surge in armed robbery cases reported in the area.

The arrest unfolded when Lokisha attempted to sell the AK47 rifle to the undercover officer.

As the transaction was about to take place, the authorities swiftly moved in and apprehended Lokisha, effectively confiscating the dangerous firearm.
