Director Trevor has addressed rising online speculation over whether American streamer iShowSpeed is expected to meet Kenyan celebrities during his ongoing African tour, insisting that such expectations misunderstand the purpose of the visit.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, January 3, 2026, Trevor explained that the main reason Speed is touring Africa is to meet and connect with his fans, rather than celebrities or content creators

“The main reason Speed is touring Africa is to meet and connect with his fans, not celebrities, not necessarily content creators, but his African fans,” he wrote.

He noted that the streamer’s intention is not centred on networking with influencers but on authentic fan interaction.

He cautioned Kenyan TikTokers and Instagram personalitiesagainst embarrassing themselves by assuming Speed will seek them out, pointing out that the streamer had not yet arrived in the country.

“So Kenyan “TIKTOKERS ON INSTAGRAM, please stop embarrassing yourselves. He’s not even here yet,” Trevor added.

Trevor urged them to research Speed’s previous Europe and China tours, noting that a review of those trips would clearly show the vision behind his travels.

According to Trevor, Kenyan celebrities understand how such global tours work and are unlikely to line up for attention in ways that could lead to humiliation.

He maintained that local celebrities are smart enough to avoid placing unrealistic expectations on the streamer.

“Do your background checks on his European tour and China tour, then you’ll understand his vision. One thing I know for sure: Kenyan celebrities are smart. You won’t see them lining up to be humiliated,” Trevor added.

He added that Speed is widely loved and should be allowed to visit Kenya and experience the country authentically, without pressure or forced meet-ups.

“We love Speed, let him come and experience Kenya authentically,” he wrote.

Speed began his much-anticipated African tour in Angola in late December 2025, launching a 28-day, multi-country journey dubbed Speed Does Africa.

The tour has since moved to South Africa, his second stop, where he has taken part in several activities, including drifting and shark diving, while livestreaming daily on YouTube and Twitch.

The streamer has previously confirmed that Kenya is among the countries on his itinerary, a revelation that sparked excitement and debate online.
