Kenyan popular deejay Keziah Jerono Rachel, widely known as DJ Kezz, has opened up about a possible new chapter in her love life, revealing that she is now thinking about courting after previously sparking conversations around celibacy.
In a candid reflection, Kezz said she has become drawn to the idea of being pursued intentionally, taking time to know someone and allowing a relationship to develop naturally rather than rushing into it.
“A few years ago, we were having conversations about celibacy, and that conversation had everyone talking. Fast forward, and now I’m thinking about courting,” DJ Kezz said on Tuesday, October 6,2026.
Kezz went on to say that she appreciates the slower and more intentional approach that comes with courtship, describing it as a process that allows two people to genuinely discover each other.
“There’s a certain softness to being pursued with intention. Getting to know someone slowly. The conversations, the little surprises, the handwritten letters, the thoughtful dates, and simply allowing attraction to grow without rushing to define everything,” she said.

Her comments suggest that Kezz is not necessarily announcing a new relationship but is instead sharing her openness to exploring love and the possibility of being courted.
Understanding celibacy
Celibacy generally refers to choosing to abstain from sexual activity, often for personal, religious or spiritual reasons. For some people, the decision can be part of a broader period of reflection, personal growth and establishing boundaries around relationships.
Kezz’s latest comments show a different perspective on intimacy and relationships, with her emphasis shifting towards intentionality, patience and taking time to understand a potential partner.
Rather than focusing on rushing into a relationship, she appears to be embracing the process of getting to know someone and allowing feelings to develop naturally.

“I love the idea of being courted. There’s something quietly romantic about it ,effort without pressure, intention without force, and two people taking the time to really discover each other,” Kezz added.
Her reflection has also highlighted how people’s perspectives on relationships can evolve over time. Having previously spoken about celibacy, Kezz is now expressing an appreciation for a more traditional approach to romance, where effort and intention play a central role.
For Kezz, courtship appears to be less about immediately defining a relationship and more about creating room for two people to connect, communicate and determine whether their attraction can grow into something deeper.
