Popular spin master DJ Krowbar has urged Kenyans to align their votes with the future during the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

Krowbar, who also backed the Niko Kadi initiative spearheaded by the youth to have as many eligible Kenyans as possible register as voters, unpacked key considerations that new voters, as well as existing ones, should consider.

“Are you registered in the right place? If you need to transfer your polling station to align with your future, don’t wait until the last minute. Sort it out today! 🇰🇪 NIKO KADI!” he said on Instagram on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

“When it comes to the ballot, it’s not just about if you vote, but where you vote. Voter registration actually has two dynamics you need to think about,” Krowbar added.

Krowbar explains the present and the future

He explained that people should register where they currently live to have a say in the leader who will ascend to office and serve them for the period of their tenure.

“The Present: You register where you currently live because you want leaders who can actually fix the potholes/agricultural needs on your daily commute and impact your immediate reality,” he wrote.

The second layer factors in future plans to relocate, with Krowbar encouraging people with plans to move in the near future to register as voters where they will move to and participate in electing leaders who will serve them.

“The Future: You transfer your vote to where you plan to be. If you are building your life, your home, or your business somewhere else in the near future, move your vote there. Choose the leaders who will shape your tomorrow,” he added.

Holding elected leaders accountable

Regardless of the situation, Krowbar noted that Kenyans deserve to live a good life matching that of their politicians, and anyone giving them a raw deal should be given a difficult time.

“Whether you are securing your present or planting seeds for your future, the bottom line remains the same: Our lives should be as good as those of our politicians. And if they aren’t? Then we have to make their time in office as hard as our daily hustle currently is. 💯” he concluded.
