The Philadelphia Eagles made their way to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, but President Donald Trump made headlines by taking a jab at pop star Taylor Swift during the festivities.

While congratulating the team for their impressive 40-22 win, Trump took the opportunity to throw shade at Swift, who has become a fan of the Chiefs and is romantically involved with their star player, Travis Kelce.

During his remarks, Trump recalled watching the game in person, alongside Swift, saying, “It was an incredible game. A little surprising, but right from the beginning of the first quarter of the big game, which I was there I watched in person. I was there along with Taylor Swift, how did that work out?” This remark follows a series of previous comments Trump has made about Swift, often criticizing her in a public manner.

Earlier in the year, Trump used his Truth Social platform to comment on the boos Swift received during the Super Bowl, claiming, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” In September 2024, after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president, Trump posted a message on Truth Social saying, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Despite the playful banter aimed at Swift, the rest of the event proceeded smoothly. Trump expressed his support for the popular “Tush Push” play, which had been under discussion for potential banishment in the NFL.

The Eagles’ visit, however, was not without some notable absences. Jalen Hurts, the team’s quarterback, was reported to have missed the event due to “scheduling conflicts,” while Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, who was involved in a past White House ceremony mishap, was also absent.
