Popular obstetrician and gynaecologist Joseph Nyaga Njagi, popularly known online as Dr Joe Njagi, has confirmed that he was among the hundreds of Kenyans who attended the star-studded yet emotional endometriosis awareness event hosted by endometriosis warrior Natalie Githinji.
In videos shared on his TikTok page on Monday, September 28, 2026, Dr Joe Njagi offered glimpses of the event, with one video showing him seated near the main dais and another capturing him addressing the gathering on endometriosis.
In his address, Dr Joe Njagi urged those who attended the event to leave with three key messages, placing particular emphasis on the need to recognise when period pain goes beyond what should be considered normal.
He explained that women should not dismiss menstrual pain when it becomes severe enough to interfere with their ability to live normally, urging them to recognise disruptive period pain as a possible sign that they need professional attention.
“If you remember only three things from today, let them be these. Period pain that disrupts your life is not normal,” he said.
The obstetrician and gynaecologist has also pointed to the growing availability of specialised care for endometriosis in Kenya, assuring those affected that medical expertise is increasingly becoming available locally.
He said the expansion of expert care should eventually make it easier for women living with endometriosis to access the help they need, while also expressing his commitment to efforts aimed at improving accessibility.
“Expert care is now available in Kenya, and it is growing, and we are going to make it accessible,” he said.
Dr Joe Njagi has also encouraged women not to remain silent when dealing with symptoms associated with endometriosis, instead urging them to speak about their experiences, seek professional help and extend kindness to others navigating similar challenges.
“Speak up, seek help and be kind,” he said.
Turning his attention to women already living with endometriosis, Dr Joe Njagi delivered a message of reassurance, telling them that their struggles are recognised and that they have the support of people who understand the difficulties associated with the condition.
He specifically addressed endometriosis warriors attending the event as well as those who were either at home or in hospital, assuring them that their experiences had not gone unnoticed.
“To every endometriosis warrior here today, at home or in hospital, I want to say to you that we see you and we believe you and we stand with you,” he said.
Dr Joe Njagi has also sought to change the way women living with endometriosis view themselves, rejecting the idea that the condition or the challenges associated with it make them weak.
He instead described them as warriors, using the term to recognise the strength required to live with and confront the condition.
“You are not weak. You are a warrior,” he said.
The doctor has also extended his message to the people surrounding endometriosis patients, recognising that the journey affects more than the person diagnosed with the condition.
In his closing remarks, Dr Joe Njagi turned to prayer, asking God to give strength to every woman battling endometriosis, wisdom to healthcare professionals involved in treating them and love to families supporting their loved ones through the difficult journey.
He prayed for the different groups affected by the condition, placing the needs of patients, medical practitioners and families at the centre of his final message.
“And I want to close this by asking for blessings from the Lord and pray that He gives strength to every warrior, wisdom to every healer and love to every family walking this road of endometriosis,” he said.
