Ugandan-based socialite Zari Hassan has sent a message to people who believe she is too old based on the ages of her children, explaining that she became a mother at a very young age.
Zari addressed the age debate in a video on Sunday, September 27, 2026, shortly after celebrating her 46th birthday, making it clear that she has no reason to lie about how old she is.
The mother of five said some people appear unable to reconcile her age with the ages of her children, particularly because she has grown-up children who could make her appear older than she actually is.
Zari explained that she had her children while she was still very young and has consequently grown up alongside them.
“Guys, there is no reason for me to lie about how old I am just because I have big boys. I had babies when I was young, and I have been growing up with them,” Zari shared.
She has also addressed people who use the ages of her children to determine how old she should be, urging them to understand that motherhood came to her when she was still very young herself.
Zari pointed out that having grown-up children does not automatically mean that she should be considered much older than the age she has publicly stated.
“So when you look at my kids and say, ‘No, she must be too old,’ just know that I got babies when I was a baby myself,” she said.
The socialite has also appeared to take the age speculation lightly, sarcastically suggesting that people could simply believe she is much older if that would make them more comfortable.
“But I hope it makes you feel better if I say I am 100 years old,” she added.
Despite the speculation surrounding her age, Zari said she is comfortable with turning 46 and remains confident about how she looks and feels at the stage of life she is in.
“I am feeling so gorgeous at 46 years of age. I do not have to lie about my age,” Zari said.

Zari’s remarks came after she celebrated her 46th birthday on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with a celebration that also drew attention to her strict expectations over how guests should dress.
During the birthday party, Zari appeared unimpressed after some guests arrived wearing jeans and T-shirts, outfits she considered too casual for the occasion.
She consequently called on her security team to intervene, making it clear that she expected guests to adhere to the dress code she had set for the celebration.
“Jeans and T-shirts? Sorry, you are not my type. Security, please do your job. Thank you very much,” she said.
Zari herself dressed for the occasion in a white outfit featuring black details around the waist, with her cake also matching the colour scheme of her look.
Her husband, Shakib, also embraced the formal theme, turning up in an all-black suit accessorised with gold details as he joined his wife for the birthday celebration.
Shakib has also celebrated Zari on her special day, publicly wishing his wife happiness, love, blessings and everything she desired as she marked another year.
“Help me wish my beautiful wife a very happy birthday! May this new year bring you endless happiness, love, blessings, and everything your heart desires. Happy birthday to you, queen! Love you always,” he said.
