Award-winning Kenyan reality TV filmmaker Eugene Mbugua and Sauti Sol’s founding member Bien Aime-Baraza have been spotted chatting with celebrated Kenyan Hollywood actor Edi Gathegi.
The actor, who is in Kenya for holiday and business, has been around for at least over a week now and is said to be involved in projects aimed at uplifting the Kenyan creative space.
In a series of photos shared on Instagram, the lanky ‘Blacklist’ actor is seen in deep conversations with Mbugua, Bien and his wife Chiki Kuruka at the Coast.
Mbugua took to social media to post: “It was a great honor to meet and engage with celebrated Hollywood actor Edi Gathegi. Edi has been in some great productions amongst them Startup, House, X-Men, The Harder they Fall, Blacklist and The Twilight Saga.”
The Documentary and Reality TV company boss went on to reveal that the visiting screen sensation is cooking up something great aimed at Kenyan creatives.
“Edi has some great plans and hopes for the Kenyan creative space, ” he stated.
While it has not been revealed what they talked about, it seems to definitely touch on the arts, music and film projects.
On March 16, Edi met with John Chirchir, the CEO of the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), who expressed his excitement at the meeting “the biggest Hollywood star.”
The two discussed possible areas of partnership in promoting and marketing Kenya’s tourism globally.
The dashing star was born in Nairobi’s Eastlands before moving to the United States at a young age and growing up in Albany, California.
His acting career began after he injured his knee while playing basketball at the University of California, and he opted to take an acting class as an “easy course.”
