Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has embraced the statement ‘Mimi ndio Sifuna‘, which went viral in the wake of a failed attempt to kick him out of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leadership.
The statement, which was made by the senator at a past event while asserting his role as the ODM Secretary General, went viral on Wednesday after the party’s National Executive Committee resolved to kick him out before the move was halted by the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) a day later.
Sifuna appeared to warm up to the phrase when he hosted a team at his office and received a white T-shirt branded with the phrase.
Delegations of youthful supporters trooped to his office on Friday, February 13, 2026, where the senator was gifted t-shirts.
Love amid political battles
Sifuna also appreciated the overwhelming love and show of solidarity received from Kenyans in the wake of his political troubles.

In a statement posted on X on Friday, February 13, 2026, the lawmaker noted that his supporters had decided to ensure that he has the correct attire for a political rally planned for Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Kitengela.
“Ma baddies wa pale tiktok wameamua kuni kit for Sunday. Thanks for the love and support, bwana. God bless,” Sifuna stated.
Another brief statement posted by the senator on Facebook on the same day indicates that he has embraced the viral phrase.
“Mimi ndio…” reads the post, accompanied by a photo of the lawmaker holding a T-shirt branded with the phrase.
Despite the ongoing tussle in ODM, Sifuna emphasised that he is a loyal member of the party and remains its elected Secretary General.
Sifuna stays grounded in ODM
He addressed a press conference in which he bashed the current party leadership and questioned the party’s direction.
“It is painful to note that sections of the party continue to desecrate the memory and legacy of Raila by turning this party into a theatre of illegality.

“It is also a known fact that whatever deals Raila struck with political parties, he would never have allowed his beloved ODM to become an appendage of State House, where decisions are rubber-stamped after instructions from the regime,” Sifuna said.
He vowed to use all lawful means, including the court of public opinion, to fight illegalities in the party and beyond.
