Police in Eldoret have launched a manhunt for a man who was seen dumping a sack with the body of a boy at the Koilel area in Ainabkoi constituency, Uasin Gishu county, before driving off.

According to Kapsoya chief, Edwin Kibor, a section of residents tracked the vehicle the 25-year-old man used to his home at Kao la Amani, Kapsoya in Eldoret town, however, he fled.

The man is alleged to have killed the young boy, who is yet to be identified and thought to be about 12 years old, at his house and collected his blood in a bucket.

The suspect’s family members told police that he had taken his father’s vehicle from the homestead on Wednesday morning and returned it later before fleeing.

The vehicle was towed to Naiberi police station and the body of the boy was taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) morgue.
