Police in Embu have arrested and arraigned a man for reportedly mobilising violent protesters in the area early this month.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Joseph Mbira Thuku is said to be among the main mobilisers of the protests, which led to destruction and violence in the county.

Appearing before Kahawa Law Courts on Tuesday, the court granted detectives a five-day custodial order to allow for comprehensive investigations.

The case will be mentioned on August 4, 2025.

The latest arrest comes amid hundreds of similar apprehensions across the country following the aftermath of June 25th and Saba Saba protests.
