Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has blamed Chelsea defender Levi Colwill for his role in Manchester United’s winning goal against the Blues.
Chelsea lost 2-1 against Man United at Old Trafford in Wednesday’s Premier League tie.
Scott McTominay’s brace gave the Red Devils all three points against Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Cole Palmer did score for Mauricio Pochettino’s side against the hosts.
However, Shearer was not pleased with Colwill’s role in Manchester United’s winning goal.
McTominay had tussled with Colwill at the back post, with the Chelsea defender falling to the ground, but there was minimal contact and the goal was allowed to stand.
“It is really weak defending there from Colwill,” Shearer said on Amazon Prime Video.
“You can see the both of them were at it, they have both got their arms on each other there.
“It went to VAR but it was never a foul, it was never going to be enough to be turned over. The defender should be dealing with it there.”
