Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has said his team did not deserve to lose to Aston Villa on Saturday.

The Gunners failed to reclaim top spot in the late kick-off as they were beaten 1-0 at Villa Park.

Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports after the game, said: “Really good performance. I thought we were better team and didn’t deserve to lose the game at all but this is football.”

When asked about the controversial refereeing decisions he initially refused to comment, but said he has an opinion: “I do, big opinion”.

Although Arsenal created big chances, they failed to convert any of them, as the hosts recorded their 14th consecutive win at home.

“You have to put the ball in the net and that’s the only thing we missed today,” Arteta added.

“We generated some big, big chances, bringing the ball higher up. We still lost the game.”
