Arsenal have suffered a major injury blow ahead of their next Premier League tie with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta confirmed that Takehiro Tomiyasu will be ‘out for a while’ with a calf injury in a huge blow for the Premier League leaders.

Recall that Tomiyasu was forced off with injury against Wolves last Saturday.

He was ruled out for the trip to Luton Town on Tuesday night as Arsenal won 4-3.

When asked about Tomiyasu, Arteta told reporters at his post-match press conference after Arsenal’s defeated Luton:

“We had a scan and it is not good news.

“He is got an injury in his calf and he is going to be out for a while.”
