Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has said Declan Rice “dominated the game” during their 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Rice has made an impressive start to life with the Gunners following his club-record move from West Ham last month.

The England midfielder produced a man-of-the-match display again at Selhurst Park.

Rice was key as Arteta’s men defended with 10 players for the last 30 minutes of the match.

As well as shielding the back four and retaining possession, he made several well-timed runs forward and should have had a first-half assist after setting Eddie Nketiah clear.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Rice’s performance after the game, Arsenal boss Arteta said: “I thought he was fantastic. He really dominated the game. To ask him to do something new, I thought he was fantastic.”
