Several Chelsea players are said to “regret” signing long-term contracts with the Premier League club, The Athletic reports.
The players are believed to have lost faith in the “grand project” at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have spent over £1billion on fresh faces in recent transfer windows, since Roman Abramovich agreed to sell the club in 2022.
The likes of Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Mkyhailo Mudryk, Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke have been brought in to boost the squad.
However, there has been little progress on the pitch, as the team has tumbled into mid-table mediocrity.
But it has emerged that some of the new arrivals “regret” committing to Premier League heavyweights for quite so long – with seven and eight-year contracts being handed out.
