Manchester United defender, Lisandro Martinez has identified Bruno Fernandes as the player that deserved to be the club’s captain.

Martinez said that Fernandes is a good leader, adding that he is really positive in the dressing room.

Recall that Man United manager Erik ten Hag recently stripped Harry Maguire of the Man United captaincy this summer.

Ten Hag then appointed Fernandes to be Man United’s new captain ahead of the upcoming new season.

Quizzed about Ten Hag’s decision to strip Maguire of the Man United captaincy this summer, Martinez was quoted by Metro UK as saying: “It is the coach’s decision and we need to respect it. He is the boss.

“If he takes the decision, as a player we need to keep going. Bruno is a good leader and a good person as well. He is really positive in the dressing room and I think he deserves it.”
