Chelsea centre-back, Thiago Silva has hailed the club’s captain Reece James, saying the England international is a good listener.

Silva also tipped the 23-year-old to have a bright future in his career.

Many expected Silva to be handed Chelsea’s captaincy this past summer after Cesar Azpilicueta’s departure to Atletico Madrid.

The 39-year-old has years of experience and has captained the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and the Brazil national team.

However, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino opted to make James his new captain.

Speaking about James, Silva said (via the club’s official website):”I have a really good relationship with Reece James.

“He is a really good captain and he has a big future because he is a really good listener.”
