Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, has said he wishes the club signed Cole Palmer from Manchester City instead of Chelsea.

Palmer arrived at Stamford Bridge in a £40m deal last summer.

Since then, the 21-year-old has scored 10 Premier League goals and 12 in all competitions.

Palmer has also earned his first two England caps in the process.

“I wish we did,” Wright said on podcast Wrighty’s House on signing Palmer.

“I don’t want to say who I’d have had him in for, but I’d have loved to have had Cole Palmer.

“I heard someone saying something that he’s like [Riyad] Mahrez, but he’s not that player; he has so much more.”
