Manchester City issued a statement on Monday providing an update on Erling Haaland’s ankle injury.
Haaland was forced off during the FA Cup win over Bournemouth on Sunday.
The Norway striker, who had made it 1-1 with a close-range finish, was replaced by Omar Marmoush.
Haaland was later spotted in a protective boot as he left the Vitality Stadium.
Amid concerns that his season may already be over, City have now offered an update on his current fitness.
An official statement read in part: “Erling underwent initial tests in Manchester on Monday morning and will now seek specialist consultation to confirm the full extent of the injury. Assessment remains ongoing to ascertain a full prognosis.
“The expectation is that Erling will be fit in time to play a further part in the remainder of this season, including this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup.”
