Manchester United defender, Raphael Varane is being lined up for a shock return to Real Madrid, according to BILD.

Varane only left Spain to join United in the summer of 2021 after 10 years with the LaLiga giants.

Los Blancos are facing an injury crisis in defence, following David Alaba’s surgery on the ruptured ACL in his left knee from their 4-1 win over Villarreal on Sunday.

Madrid are also without Eder Militao after tearing his ACL back in August.

It leaves only Antonio Rudiger and Nacho as the fit central defenders.

They could now look to bring back Varane to solve their injury crisis.

During his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, Varane lifted 18 trophies, including four Champions Leagues.
