Manchester United and Chelsea legends, Roy Keane and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink have delivered their verdict on Red Devils winger Antony following Sunday’s 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest.

Antony scored one and provided an assist at the City Ground to help Erik ten Hag’s side move up to third in the Premier League table.

The Brazil international was scoring for the first time for Manchester United in the league since October and marked his first assist since his £85m arrival from Ajax in the summer.

He has now scored eight goals and made two assists in 35 games for the Red Devils this season and Roy Keane and Hasselbaink believe the Portugal midfielder still has much more to do helping Erik ten Hag’s side.

“It’s vital to get those types of goals,” Keane told Sky Sports.

“We’ve been critical and he’s got to get in there a little bit more and have that hunger and desire.

“We saw the brilliance of him for the second goal, but doing the basics like following shots, players have got to do that because these are big moments.”

Former Chelsea forward, Hasselbaink is of the opinion that Antony needs to replicate Liverpool hero Mohamed Salah.

“He needs to score more goals,” Hasselbaink said. “He also needs to create more goals as well.

“When Liverpool won the league, Salah scored 30 goals. That is where he needs to get to.”

Fernandes had recently lambasted Keane and Gary Neville, two legends of the Red Devils for criticising him, describing them as liars and attention seekers.

However, the club’s legends came back to tell the Portugal international to heed to their advice and learn from past players who have made their names at the club.
