Former Manchester United defender, Paul Parker, has warned the Premier League club not to sign Karim Benzema from Al-Ittihad.

According to him, it would be a “PR signing” and they would be repeating their Cristiano Ronaldo “mistake”.

United have been linked with Benzema, whose future in Saudi Arabia is uncertain.

Parker told SpilXperten: “Karim Benzema would be yet another step backward. He would just be another PR signing, and Manchester United definitely doesn’t need that.

“It would just be making the same mistake as before when they brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“It would be yet another step backwards.”
