On-loan Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney has rated the Gunners’ chances of winning the English top-flight league this season.

The Scotland international is backing his parent club to come out on top at the end of the campaign.

The Scot, who is currently on loan at La Liga side Real Sociedad, claimed that Arsenal are in a better position than they were last season.

Tierney was part of the Arsenal side that narrowly missed out on the title last season despite leading the table for most of the season.

When asked if he thinks Mikel Arteta’s side could remain top of the table till the last day, Tierney said (as quoted by afcstuff): “I think they can. I don’t know exactly the run-in for the three teams fighting for it, but I think they’re in a better position than last year. They’ve got more experience, their whole game has developed so much; defensively, they’re solid; they don’t give much away.”

Arsenal are leading the race on goal difference, as they share the top spot in the table with Liverpool on points. Manchester City are closely following, just one point behind.
