Former England international Alan Shearer has said that he would not be surprised if Chelsea sold their striker Nicolas Jackson this summer.

According to Shearer, Chelsea have options such as Liam Delap and João Pedro in the attacking line and could consider parting ways with the Senegalese forward.

Chelsea recently secured the signings of both attackers from Ipswich Town and Brighton.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Shearer said: “I don’t know, am I playing devil’s advocate here in thinking [Nicolas] Jackson may be the one?

“That wouldn’t surprise me if he was sold to [another club by Chelsea], whether in our country or not.

“They have got some serious options in every forward position.”

Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal, has faced criticism at the club from both fans and pundits in the past due to his performances for the Blues.
