Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino has given his verdict on the club’s goalkeeper, Dorde Petrovic.
Pochettino said the Blues trust Petrovic as he prepares to make his full Chelsea debut against Sheffield United in Saturday’s Premier League tie.
Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper Robert Sanchez face spells on the sidelines after he recently sustained an injury.
“We lost our No.1 keeper so far, always a player you are going to miss. We have other keepers who are working hard to be ready when this type of thing happens,” Pochettino said at his pre-match press conference.
On the challenge facing Petrovic, Pochettino added: “Of course [I have faith in him]. I have faith in all my players.
“Of course, he is young and came from a different football but now after four or five months working with us it’s the moment for him to step up and feel good because we have confidence in him, we trust him, his team-mates trust in him and it is time for debut at Stamford Bridge.
“We trust in him to perform in the way we want.”
