Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has suggested why Manchester City sold Cole Palmer to the Blues.

Recall that Palmer moved to Stamford Bridge from Man City in the summer of 2023.

The England international has been impressive since joining the Premier League west London club.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League tie with Leicester City on Saturday, Maresca gave the reason Pep Guardiola’s side sold the 22-year-old star.

Asked why City sold Cole Palmer, Maresca told TNT Sports: “Everyone at City, they knew how good Cole is. The only problem is having so many players there.

“It’s difficult to give all of them minutes, so no one at City thought that Cole was not good enough, no doubt.”
