Comedian Eric Omondi has made a triumphant entry into Kisumu, with his charity walk from Nairobi to Busia in progress.
The philanthropist was treated to a joyous welcome with hundreds lining up along the streets and joining his procession on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
A huge crowd gathered in a public space and was addressed by the comedian, who is not new to Lakeside City, having attended Kisumu Boys’ High School.
Taking to social media on the same day, the comedian reacted to the overwhelming welcome, making it clear that he was indeed at home.

“East or West Home is Best TUMEFIKA KISUMU. The Journey has been long, but the DREAM IS BIGGER,” Omondi stated.
End of mission in sight
He added that the mission would be completed on time on Friday, March 6, 2026, when he expects to make it to Busia, having covered a distance of 366 kilometres.
“Kesho tunafika Busia. Every step Counts… We will deliver Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue centre soon,” he said.
Omondi has braved harsh weather during the charity walk spanning five days, the change in weather taking a toll on his body.
Omondi noted that the transition from hot weather when he walked from Nairobi to Mombasa to the current cold and rainy weather as he makes the long journey to Busia has affected his body.
“Weather ni mbayaaa, watu wangu. But safari Lazima iendelee. So the 1st problem is that my body has moved from extremely hot Conditions (Mombasa walk) to extremely Cold weather,” he stated.
Enduring lighting and thunderstorms
Omondi acknowledged that he knew the journey would come with challenges, but he remained committed to the mission.
“Secondly, hio Mvua ya Gilgil Jana. But nobody said it would be a walk in the park. BUSIA HERE WE COME. You can keep buying Kilometres or send whatever you can,” Omondi said.

He also endured thunderstorms and lightning on the third day, which saw him reach Kericho town.
“Tumefika KERICHO!!! Even through Thunderstorms and Lightnings we will get to Busia. No obstacle will stand in our way. We will build the Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre. We will soon provide FREE HEALTHCARE and EDUCATION to Vulnerable Kenyans. IT WILL HAPPEN!!!” Omondi remarked.
