Quincy Timberlake, the son of the controversial musician/pastor Quincy Timberlake and stepson to former KTN presenter Esther Arunga, has embarked on a new educational journey by enrolling in the Kenya Aeronautical College at Wilson Airport.
In an announcement made by journalist and lawyer Wahome Thuku, it was revealed that Quincy would be pursuing a four-year engineering course at the institution.
“The young man who scored an A- at Chavakali High School,” He said, “On Friday, September 8, he officially joined Kenya Aeronautical College at Wilson Airport for a four-year Aeronautical Engineering course. With him is his guardian, Sally Njoki Ndwigah, during orientation.”
Thuku, who played a pivotal role in organizing a fundraiser to support the three children left behind by Esther Arunga and Quincy Timberlake, disclosed that a total of Ksh400,000 had been spent to secure Quincy’s enrollment at the college.
“We have spent close to Ksh400,000 to get him to join the college. That will take him one year. We hope to put him through for two years and then do another fundraiser. The last two years [of his degree course], he will be in China,” stated the lawyer.
The fundraiser, which was held on August 4, 2023, saw generous contributions from Kenyans of goodwill amounting to Ksh1 million for the benefit of the three children who had been grappling with limited access to basic necessities and education.
“I am almost in tears. This young man would never have dreamt of getting there without you folks. Not even a dream. With all his brilliant brains, he would have wasted always in the streets of Nairobi,” expressed Thuku, reflecting on the immense impact of the community’s support.
Quincy Timberlake’s story is complex, marked by his father’s previous marriage to the late Rose Mweni Gideon in the 1990s.
The couple shared their lives in Komarock, Nairobi, and were blessed with three sons. However, in 2009, Quincy Timberlake left his first family for Esther Arunga, a KTN anchor.
The journey of Quincy Timberlake and Esther Arunga subsequently took them to Australia, where they faced legal troubles following the tragic death of their son, Sinclair, in 2014.
Esther Arunga changed her statement and pleaded guilty to being an accessory to the murder after the fact to manslaughter. This decision came after Timberlake involuntarily admitted himself to a mental health facility.
Arunga was handed a 10-month suspended sentence over the tragic death of her son.
