Leon Balogun has singled out Rangers goalkeeper, Jack Butland for praises following the Light Blues penalty shootout victory over Fenerbahce.

Barry Ferguson’s side won the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie 3-1.

Fenerbahce however cancelled out the advantage in the second leg courtesy of Sebastian Szymański’s brace.

Rangers sealed a place in the quarter-finals after winning 3-2 on penalties.

Butland made two brilliant saves in the shootout.

Balogun eulogised the shot stopper for his bravery.

“I was praying for Jack, praying that God share some of his glory with him,” Balogun was quoted by the Scottish Sun.

“He has done it. I’m just happy for Jack. He really deserves it. He’s a big character in the dressing room.

“He loves the club, cares about the boys and like I say it’s great for him to have a moment like that.”
