Ex-Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong secures a position in Ruto’s recent appointments.

President William Ruto recently announced new appointments to several state agencies. According to a gazette notice dated June 14, former Busia Governor Sospeter Odeke Ojaamong has been appointed as the Chairperson of the NEPAD/APRM Kenya Governing Council.

Ojaamong is slated to lead the council for a three-year term, effective from the date of his appointment. Additionally, Bernadette Ng’ang’a has been appointed as the chairperson of the Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board.

Ng’ang’a will serve as the board’s chair for a three-year period, commencing from the date of her appointment.

“I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya appoint Bernadette Ng’ang’a to be the chairperson of the Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board,” the gazette notice reads in part.

Ruto further appointed Albert Cege to be the Chairperson of the Kenya Academy of Sports Council.
Cege will also serve for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the date of appointment.
Ruto appointed Ratemo Waya Michieka to be the Chancellor at Tharaka University.

“I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Ratemo Waya Michieka (PROF) to be the Chancellor of Tharaka University, for a period of five (5) years,” he said.

Ratemo’s appointment takes effect from June 14, 2024.
