FAKE; Letter Claiming Kericho Deputy Governor Fred Kirui Has Resigned Is Fabricated

The County Government of Kericho has rubbished claims that Deputy Governor Fred Kirui has resigned.

This is after a letter was posted online, claiming that Kirui resigned on 30th January 2023.

“I write to resign my seat as the elected Deputy Governor of Kericho effective 30th January 2023. Serving the Kenyans in Kericho under your leadership has been a high honour and distinct privilege,” the letter reads in part.

Kericho County Director of Communications Marrie Langat disowned the letter and confirmed that the deputy governor is in office.

“The reports are fake. Any official information is communicated via the county’s official social media accounts,” Langat said.

She went ahead to confirm that the official Facebook page is ‘The County Government of Kericho’ as shared below:
