Head coach Engin Firat has added three new Turkish nationals into his Harambee Stars backroom staff, just a few months after he was confirmed as the permanent national team head coach.
The tactician has brought on board Kennan Atik as a new assistant coach, an additional member of the coaching unit having already had William Muluya and Ken Odhiambo as his assistants.
Atik has worked as coach during different stints at his former club Denizlispor between 2020.
He has also brought on board Adem Koyuncu as the new physiotherapist while Tolgahan Tuglu will be the new Team Manager of the national team.
“Kenan is a very experienced coach. He knows me well and how I am thinking. He also knows very well how to work in development of young players. His job will not only be the senior national team but also to bring structured in our youth national teams so that we have a real program for the future,” Firat said on the new addition of an assistant coach.
On the new physio Koyuncu, Firat said; “We have to adapt more to professional ways with machines and things to help the team recover and also players coming back well after injury.”
“We also have a new Team Manager who is very experienced in international football. I believe it is not enough to only be a team manager on the ground, you also have to bring new relations from international fronts,” the tactician said.
Jectan Oitiang’or was the previous Team Manager while Enos Karani was the Physical Trainer, but both have now been replaced.
Stars are preparing to travel to Mauritius on Saturday, ahead of the four-nation invitational tournament against the hosts, Pakistan and Djibouti.
