A section of the Isiolo Airport was on Saturday razed after a fire broke out in a nearby farm and spread to the facility.

According to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, an official of the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) on routine check at the airport spotted the fire emanating from the South East part of the Isiolo Airport Police Station and raised alarm.

The fire was eventually put out after two hours following joint efforts by police officers and the fire team.

“Apparently, the fire spread from the neighbouring farm and about 60 acres of the airport containing dry grass and shrubs was razed,” read the report.

No casualties were however reported from the fire.
