Five people killed in bandit attack in Samburu

Five people have been shot dead in lkek -sabuki after bandits raided a village in Samburu County.

On Saturday night bandits raided four villages in the same county and managed to steal an unknown number of livestock. The move prompted a gun battle between them and security personnel.

Three Kenya Defence Forces soldiers sustained injuries in an altercation that saw several bandits also injured.

The villages attacked include Lesilampa, Lekirishati, Lempoko and Lengoseg, seven cows were stolen and one shot dead in the crossfire.

The multiagency troops drawn from Kenya Defence Forces and the National Police Service are pursuing the bandits to recover the animals stolen and neutralize the enemy.
