Five suspects are awaiting arraignment after being found in possession of bhang and other stolen items after a crackdown in Kakamega.

The National Police Service (NPS) stated that the five were apprehended during a targeted operation in Kakamega Town on August 16, following a tip-off from members of the public.

The five were found in possession of approximately 1,412 rolls of bhang, uncustomed goods comprising 16 packets of Oris cigarettes, 25 packets of Milano cigarettes, one Supermatch packet, and suspected stolen property, including three 6kg gas cylinders and assorted items.

They are set to appear in court today, Monday, August 18.
