Police in Uriri, Migori County are investigating a peculiar incident in which a five-year-old girl was reportedly strangled to death by unknown assailants near her family home in Central Kanyamkago.

Confirming the incident, Central Kanyamkago Location Chief George Odhiambo told Citizen Digital that the girl’s lifeless body was discovered within a partially constructed house, merely a short distance from her residence.

He added that preliminary investigations had established that the killer used the child’s clothes to strangle her to death.

Odhiambo added that while the motive for the killing remains unknown, local DCI officers are actively investigating the incident.

The child’s body has since been moved to Migori Referral Hospital mortuary pending autopsy and police investigation.
