The Boxing Federation of Kenya (BFK) has announced the postponement of the Kenya Open boxing championship that was scheduled for April 6-8.
A new date will be communicated later.
The BFK Secretary General David Munuhe said the cancellation was occasioned by the fact that the tournament coincided with the Africa Zone 3 boxing championship due in Dar es Salaam.
Six countries have confirmed participation in the African Zone 3 Boxing Championships that will be held at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in the Tanzanian capital.
In addition to the hosts Tanzania, the six other countries are Kenya, Somalia, Cameroon, DRC, Burundi and Equatorial Guinea.
