A female form-one student at Kuoyo mixed secondary school in Kisumu West Sub County was last evening stabbed to death by an unknown person.

According to the area Member of County Assembly (MCA)Vincent Jagongo, the attacker stabbed the girl five times around Lela along Kisumu Busia road.

Jagongo who represents North West ward says the incident has caused psychological torture among students as cases of insecurity soars up in the area.

“I want to condemn what happened last evening in my ward, it is an incident that has left us with many questions,” he said.

The MCA says the student was returning back home after school when she was attacked.

“It is still not known whether she was attacked by an individual or a group of people,” he added.

The last student who departed with her on their way home said she was in high spirits only to learn that her body had been found by the roadside in a pool of blood.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Tuesday, the MCA called upon law enforcement officers to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring to book the culprits.

“Our officers must work round the clock to apprehend who was behind that heinous act, this should not go unpunished,” he said.

Jagongo says the area in the recent past, has witnessed cases of insecurity despite a police post in the area.

He called for patrols by the officers both during the day and night as he appealed to the locals to volunteer information that can help in reducing crime cases in the area.

“There are certain cases happening in the area which to my view should not take place since we have security officers amidst us,” he said.

The body of the deceased was taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examinations.
