Aduwa village in East Yimbo Location in Siaya county is in shock after a Form 3 girl was attacked and badly hurt by her alleged boyfriend early Monday.
The 17-year-old victim, a student at Got Matar Secondary School in Bondo Sub County, is currently fighting for her life at Eldoret Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The suspect is a Form 4 student at the same school. His age is yet to be established.
The Star has seen a gory image of the victim with life threatening deep cuts on the head, cheeks, throat, and limbs.
East Yimbo Location Chief Julius Odemba confirmed the bizarre incident, noting that the suspect is yet to be arrested.
“Together with the police, we are working around the clock to arrest the suspect.”
The victim’s mother could not confirm any sexual relationship between her daughter and the attacker.
“We have gathered information that the boy came to the house where my daughter sleeps at around 3am. He knocked the window and my daughter opened before exiting with him,” she said.
“I was woken up by a neighbour at around 6am that my daughter was lying in a pool of blood in the neighborhood,” the distraught mother added.
The girl’s father who works as a night guard is yet to come to terms with the incident.
“The girl is the only reason I work when other people are sleeping. I do this to get her school fees. May the police investigate this matter and let us know what crime my daughter committed,” he said.
Name’s of the girls parents have been omitted to protect her identity.
The victim’s family noted that the suspect is well known to them.
The family suspects that he was in company of other people who are yet to be identified.
Chief Odemba called on members of the public to be reporting incidents as soon as they happen.
He said his office only learnt of the chilling incident via social media long after the suspect disappeared into the thin air.
