Kibra United’s attacking midfielder, Ibrahim Mao, has made a move to Tanzanian Premier League side, Kinondoni Municipal Council FC.

The midfielder, formerly associated with AFC Leopards, has already made his debut for the Tanzanian club in a recent 1-1 draw against Zimamoto FC on Wednesday.

Mao spent four months with Kibra United before securing this opportunity in the Tanzanian league. Prior to his stint with Kibra, he played for the Somalian side Horseed Soccer Club.

Kibra United confirmed Mao’s departure and extended their best wishes to him. The club’s statement emphasized its commitment to nurturing talents and providing young players with a platform to showcase their abilities.

“In line with our main goals of identifying and nurturing talents, and providing young players a platform to showcase their abilities, we are delighted to inform you that Ibrahim Mao has been signed by a team in the Tanzanian Premier League, KMC FC (@Kmcfc_official),” Kibra United announced.

“Mao, a creative attacking midfielder, joined our team on loan during the second phase of this season. We wish him all the best at his new club,” the club added.

His previous experiences with AFC Leopards and Sofapaka FC Youth teams, as well as a stint in Somalia, have undoubtedly contributed to his growth as a player.

His move to Tanzania adds him to the list of recent Kenyan players venturing into the Tanzanian football scene, alongside notable names like Joash Onyango and Farouk Shikhalo.
