Kegoro was at one time the Member of Parliament for West Mugirango constituency where he served for nine years.
Kegoro won the seat in a by-election through the KANU ticket during the One Party System in 1969 after the death of George Morara of KANU who had served for barely a year.
He lost the seat to Sospeter Mageto in 1974 only to reclaim it 5 years later through a KANU ticket where he served up to 1983.
Kegoro is father to George Kegoro is director of policy and engagement at Open Society–Africa who is a former director at Kenya Human Rights Commission.
While Eulogizing him, area MP Steve Mogaka paid glowing tribute to the late as an icon of leadership and integrity and great loyalty to the west mugirango people.
City Lawyer Danstan Omari also paid tribute to Kegoro saying they have lost a sober and honest leader.
“As a West mugirango constituents we have lost a sober honest leader and to my senior brother wakili kegoro all will be well. His input to the growth of law and human rights through his son is highly appreciated,” Omari said.
