Early Thursday morning, July 11, a tragic fire incident in Manyatta B area, Kisumu County, claimed the lives of at least four people, including two adults and two minors. The fire, which started around 3 am, engulfed approximately 20 houses where the victims were sleeping.

Authorities, including police from Kasagam police station and a fire engine, responded swiftly to the scene along Nairobi-Nyamasaria Road. After containing the fire, officials discovered the remains of the victims, who have not yet been identified. Their bodies were transported to the mortuary pending further procedures.

The devastating blaze left several locals homeless, prompting urgent appeals for food and shelter assistance. Affected individuals sought temporary refuge at a local church as they awaited aid.

Meanwhile, in Nairobi, a fire incident at a restaurant on Banda Street Wednesday evening was successfully contained without any reported injuries. The fire, believed to have started due to an electrical fault on the ground floor, led to the evacuation of patrons as emergency services worked to prevent further damage.

Additionally, in Ngara area, Nairobi, a fire broke out in an apartment, destroying household items. The fire, reportedly sparked while cooking, was swiftly brought under control, with no injuries reported.
