German-based Kenyan influencer Annette is giving her followers a proper taste of village life, and the internet is absolutely here for it.
In a video shared on her Instagram on Thursday, September 17, Annette posted a hilarious clip filmed outdoors at what appears to be her home in Homa Bay, capturing a chaotic but heartwarming family moment in the garden.
The handheld footage shows Annette trying to wash dishes amid the chaos of her German husband Slavi and their energetic toddler Miguel getting thoroughly distracted by the chicken nearby.
Instead of helping with the washing up, the two were busy pouring water on the bird, much to Annette’s mock frustration.
“So much going on in this video,” she wrote in the caption. “Miguel and Slavi were pouring water on the chicken while I’m trying to clean dishes.”
The setting, complete with a mango tree overhead, lush grass, and scattered pots and basins, gave the whole clip a deeply relatable Kenyan village feel.
What made it especially charming was watching Slavi, a German national, fully immersed in the moment alongside little Miguel, who was clearly having the time of his life.
Annette’s warm voiceover kept the tone light and affectionate throughout. At one point, she can be heard telling Miguel:
“Okay, yes, honey, that makes you happy,” as the toddler merrily interfered with the dishwashing routine.
The clip resonated widely, with fans praising the family’s authenticity and the sheer joy radiating from the video.

During their last visit in 2022, Slavi impressed many after helping dig his mother-in-law’s farm.
Slavi eagerly picked up a jembe despite his wife’s warning about his footwear, working until he became exhausted.
He eventually stopped after blisters developed on his hands.
