Gold Mine Collapses In Kakamega, Seven People Trapped Inside

Eight have been rescued and seven other people are trapped inside a gold mine that collapsed in Sigalagala, Kakamega county.

Police say the pit collapsed on Thursday morning, at around 2.00 am and buried 15 young men.

County Government officials, police officers and emergency response teams from the county are currently at the location helping with the rescue mission.

According to the police, the eight people who were rescued were rushed to the Kakamega General Hospital, and are in a stable condition.
