Businesswoman and up-and-coming gospel singer Abigael Mkamburi has opened up on her plans to work with celebrated Tanzanian gospel star singer Christina Shusho.
Speaking to Nairobi News following her latest release the 13th single, a praise and worship record titled Roho Wa Kweli, the hotelier who began her music career in 2017, as a hobby says, she now has dedicated time to do music on a full-time basis as she aims for a collabo with the Zakayo singer who has become a darling for the Kenyans.
“A while ago, Shusho and I discussed the possibilities of working on a collaboration and she was positive about it. Because of time constraints on my side, we did agree that once I am ready, we will partner on some projects. With my latest release, Roho Wa Kweli I believe I am ready. Finding time has always been a hindrance as I am involved in the general operation of the family business. Besides I was also looking after my young girls,” Abigael says.
But with her children now all grown up, and finding the right balance to run the business, the General Manager of Shushan Palace Hotel, says she has now more time to concentrate on her music career as a praise and worship singer.
”I began composing and recording praise and worship songs in 2017 and even though I was never consistent with my music up to this point, I managed to release 12 single tracks before the latest one. That’s like an album. Going forward, I plan to stay consistent, this is the first of many” she commits.
Reacting to her latest release, Abigael says she was inspired by the teachings of the Holy Scriptures John 14:
Jesus Christ teaches us that the Holy Spirit is our best Helper and Guide in all things. In John 14: 16 – 17 it says ‘And I will pray for the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14: 26: But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.’ These scriptures were the inspiration for Roho Wa Kweli,” the mother of two adds.
