Kisii Governor Simba Arati has faulted police for insecurity incidences in the area, the recent being the hacking of a man in Kisii town.

The governor questioned Kisii County Commissioner on the progress made in the case, saying the suspect has been killing people under the watch of police and under their protection.

“Kindiki what do you want to tell us? Are you in charge or have you given instructions that there should be no peace and there should be no business as usual in Kisii. Why can’t you ask the Governor or be it who and ask them to record statements,” Arati said.

He also faulted police for failing to question politicians linked to the insecurity.

Speaking to Citizen Tv, County Commissioner Tom Anjere claimed that the groups are being sponsored by local politicians.

“We have said that the law should be followed to the latter, irrespective of the position the politician holds in the county government. We will not have a town or a county of chaos every day. The law is very clear irrespective of the social standing. We have reached out to the County police commander to do his work. We have reached out to the CID and told them to do their work and those politicians who are behind this criminal groupings should face the law.” Claimed the Commissioner.
