Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has announced that the National Treasury and Economic Planning has released Ksh2.7 billion to the Higher Education Loans Board(HELB) for disbursement to over 180,000 students in public and private universities.

In a press statement sent to newsrooms, the Education CS acknowledged that he is aware certain students who are preparing to sit their end-of-semester examinations were greatly affected by the delay in HELB disbursement.

The CS further assured the affected students that they will be legible to register for their end-semester examinations.

“The Ministry of Education is aware that the majority of Government-sponsored students in our public and private universities are preparing to sit their end-of-semester examinations for the 2022/2023 Academic Calendar.
