England manager Gareth Southgate has hailed Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham, insisting that the 20-year-old reminds him of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

According to Southgate, Bellingham, who has been brilliant for Real Madrid this season, influences his teammates.

Speaking to French outlet L’Equipe, Southgate reckoned that Bellingham is currently playing in a world of his own.

“Jude reminds me of Steven Gerrard. Even when the opponents have the feeling that they are in control of the match, it is players like that who can change it (the match). With their mentality, they influence their teammates,” he said.

Bellingham has been in the spotlight since joining the La Liga champions from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
