Kenyan Gengetone rapper Stoopid Boy was finally laid to rest on Wednesday, September 16, at his mother’s home in Kipipiri, Nyandarua county, bringing a close to a difficult period that had seen his family locked in a prolonged dispute over his burial arrangements.

The 24-year-old musician had died on 27 August 2026, and the weeks between his passing and the funeral were marked by tension among his relatives before an agreement was eventually reached.

Was Stoopid Boy buried next to brother?

Content creator 2mbili was present at the burial and shared footage capturing the raw grief of the occasion.

The video shows mourners gathered around an open grave as the casket was slowly lowered in and soil began to cover it, the atmosphere heavy with sorrow.

What has left many viewers stunned is what the camera revealed next. As it panned across the burial ground, it picked up the headstone of Stoopid Boy’s brother, Ian Mbugua, resting just nearby.

According to the inscription, Ian was born in August 1999 and died in May 2026.

The words “Forever in our hearts” were etched onto the wooden cross.

The proximity of the two graves has struck a nerve with many Kenyans online.

Two brothers, both gone within months of each other, are now buried side by side.

Reactions to the clip have poured in from across the country, with many finding it difficult to process the double loss the family has endured in such a short space of time:

@jacob_martin_n_mutua:

“May they RIP.”

@w.osorro:

“Is that grave 6 feet deep?”

@mwema_cliff:

“This is so heartbreaking.”

@gtrs53697:

“So sad.”

For a family that has now buried two sons within the same year, the images from Wednesday’s ceremony paint a picture of grief that words struggle to capture fully.
